GDSP Volunteers

Welcome New & Returning Volunteers!

We're excited to be working alongside you for another fantastic season with the Gateway Disabled Ski Program.  Please take a moment to review the information provided below before beginning the registration process.

New to the Program?

DASA GDSP VolunteersVolunteers are essential to the success of athletes participating with the Gateway Disabled Ski Program.  They assist and lead lessons, help with fittings and modifications, coach racers, and fulfill many other needs of our athletes and the program.   Our program provides a rewarding opportunity to bring the fun and excitement of alpine skiing and snowboarding into the lives of athletes, regardless of ages and ability levels, while also giving volunteers a unique opportunity to enhance personal skiing and boarding skills.

We are always looking for new potential members to join our team.  Need to fulfill community service hours?  Volunteering with us can satisfy anywhere from 16-40 hours!  Although prior skiing/snowboarding experience is preferred, there are several opportunities to contribute off the hill, too - and the chance to learn how to ski yourself!  If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Volunteer Registration

Please carefully read through all of the steps before getting started...

Register with DASA

Our volunteer registration survey will provide us information that will help us coordinate our lessons on the hill. It is important to complete this survey as thoroughly as possible to ensure that we are adequately prepared for the best possible success on snow.

Receive Email Confirmation & Pass Instructions

Within 48 hours of completing the volunteer registration survey, a confirmation email will be delivered containing information needed to purchase a discounted DASA Season Pass (if needed). This email will also contain information on how to sign up for ongoing program communications.

Dry-Land Refresher & On-Hill Training

ALL volunteers should attend one of our Dry-Land Refreshers, as well as one of our On-Hill training seminars (see ‘Volunteer Orientation’). Attending these events is vital to the quality of the lessons we provide, as well as the safety of athletes and volunteers, alike. Registration for these events will be made available leading up to their scheduled dates.

DASA Liability & Media Release Waiver

In addition to the waiver required by Hidden Valley, we will need all participants to complete a waiver prior to participation. This waiver will be provided leading up to the first night of the program, as well as on the first night of the program. For participants under the age of 18, this waiver must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian.

Pick up your DASA Season Pass

Passes can be picked up in the front office of the main lodge at Hidden Valley during normal business hours - or on the first night of the program (just make sure to arrive early!).

Let (or Make) it Snow!!!

Hidden Valley will begin making snow as soon as temperatures allow. Our program is scheduled to begin the first, full week of January, but that will largely be determined by mother nature. In the meantime, make sure that you have all of the gear needed to stay warm and dry on the snow! We will be sure to send you further instructions on where to meet us when there is snow, and what else to expect on the hill.
