Welcome Athletes and Guardians...

About the Gateway Disabled Ski Program

Our goal is to provide the thrill of skiing and snowboarding to athletes of all ages and abilities.  Through the use of adaptive equipment and instruction, we are able to erase  any possible boundaries or limitations to meet the needs of athletes across a vast spectrum of functional ability levels, and provide an environment that promotes success and independence - both on and off the slopes!  Anyone with the will and desire to have fun and excel at skiing is welcome to join our program!!

Athlete Registration

Please carefully read through all of the steps before getting started...

Register with DASA

Our athlete registration survey will provide us information that will be necessary for fitting equipment, assigning volunteer instructors, and providing other important health and safety information. It is important to complete this survey as thoroughly as possible to ensure that we are adequately prepared for the best possible success on the hill. For participants under the age of 18, this survey should be completed by a parent or guardian.

Receive Email Confirmation & Pass Instructions

Within 48 hours of completing the athlete registration survey, a confirmation email will be delivered containing information needed to purchase a discounted DASA Season Pass. This email will also contain information on how to sign up for ongoing program communications.

Equipment Fitting - New & Returning Athletes

For athletes that will be requiring adaptive equipment, an appointment will need to be scheduled prior to the first night of skiing in order to evaluate and fit the equipment. Athletes that do not need any additional adaptive gear can be fitted for boots/skis (or board) on the first night of skiing.

DASA Liability & Media Release Waiver

In addition to the waiver required by Hidden Valley, we will need all participants to complete a waiver prior to participation. This waiver will be provided leading up to the first night of the program, as well as on the first night of the program. For participants under the age of 18, this waiver must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian.

Pick up your DASA Season Pass

Passes can be picked up in the front office of the main lodge at Hidden Valley during normal business hours - or on the first night of the program (just make sure to arrive early!).

Let (or Make) it Snow!!!

Hidden Valley will begin making snow as soon as temperatures allow. Our program is scheduled to begin the first, full week of January, but that will largely be determined by mother nature. In the meantime, make sure that you have all of the gear needed to stay warm and dry on the snow! We will be sure to send you further instructions on where to meet us when there is snow, and what else to expect on the hill.

Family & Friends

Family and friends are welcome to participate and observe, but please follow the guidelines below.

Family Assistance

  • Parents and others are welcome to assist in the program, but MUST complete Volunteer Registration and have a DASA Pass or other valid Hidden Valley Pass.
  • The primary focus of the instruction will remain with the athlete with disabilities.   Family and friends seeking instruction for personal skiing abilities should seek other opportunities to build skills outside the focus of adaptive instruction techniques.

Family Observation

  • Family and friends that are not registered members of the program and/or occupants of a valid Hidden Valley Pass are welcome to observe the sessions, however, such guests MUST remain off the hill and clear from any areas beyond the edge of the snow.  This is for personal safety, and that of other visitors at Hidden Valley.
