Bryan Krueger – Tennis Coach
Bryan has been playing tennis since he was about 10 years old. He played competitively throughout high school at Fort Zumwalt North High School. In college at Missouri State University, he participated in intramural tennis and played on the Phi Delta Theta tennis team. Now 4 years removed from college, he still enjoys playing recreational tennis as part of the USTA and World Team Tennis and coaching tennis Scott Weinstein- Competition Swim Team Coach Born and raised in St. Louis, Scott spent K-10 at Ladue and 11-12 at Parkway Central. His swimming career began when his family put a pool in the backyard when Scott was just 4 years old. Swimming was something his family did everyday during the summer. In the third grade, Scott started swimming competitively for the JCCA. Scott swam and played water polo in high school, and his senior year at Parkway Central the team was State Swimming Champions. Scott then played water polo for Indiana University. Since college, Scott has worked in the high technology industry, spending 9 1/2 years at Lotus development and the last 7 years at Microsoft. Married for 18 years to Elise (Lisi), they have two wonderful children Erica (Rikki) age 15 and Jake age 11 and a crazy chocolate lab puppy named Charlie.Besides swimming, Scott plays volleyball once a week and tennis as often as possible. Chad Feltmeyer- Power Soccer Coach Chad has played soccer since he was 8 years old. As a father of a child with a disability, Chad realizes the desire for children with all ability levels to participate in sports. His daughter, Brooke, had always wanted to play soccer and DASA’s power wheelchair soccer team gave her the opportunity to not only compete, but win national championships. Since 2005, Chad has coached the DASA Dynamite Power Soccer Team. Mr. Dennis Pivin- Climbing Instructor Mr. Pivin was introduced to DASA in 2004 when the DASA group came to the YMCA for rock climbing. Mr. Pivin assists the O’Fallon Y in maintaining the safe operations of the rock wall. Mr. Pivin is a Safety Director for a large construction company. He not only is into climbing, but also enjoys his study of the Martial Arts. He is currently a Third Degree Black Belt and is certified with the United States National Tae Kwon Do Federation (USNTF) and World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF). In his spare time, Mr. Pivin runs his own business Professional Training Concepts to address individual and corporate self-defense and athletic training needs. When asked about his time working with DASA, Mr. Pivin said, "I love to see the look of accomplishment when the kids overcome their fears and make their way to the top of the wall. It is truly inspiring." Jessica Longenecker- Swimming Instructor Jessica is a kindergarten teacher at Independence Elementary. Since 2003, Jessica has been coaching DASA swimming. She swam on teams since 6th grade. Each week, Jessica leaves swim practice with a feeling of pure joy because of the DASA swimmers and their outlook on life and their capabilities! Keith Duemler- Golf Coach
Keith has been working with DASA since its inception in 1997. His son, Ryan, participates in DASA programs. Sports have always been an important part of Keith’s life. As a child growing up, he played baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, and golf. As his playing days came to an end, Keith wanted to stay involved in sports so he started coaching. Keith has coached baseball/softball, soccer, and basketball for his children’s teams. As a DASA coach, Keith’s goal is to promote social relationships, provide exercise and health benefits, and give the kids a chance to have fun and a smile on their face. Mike Dowling - Sled Hockey Coach Mike has been helping Kelly with her wheelchair program even before DASA was formed. After DASA was officially formed as a nonprofit organization, Mike was one of the founding board members. For the last five years, he has been the sled hockey program director and coach. Mike played youth ice hockey himself for 10 years, and now is registered with USA Hockey, the governing body of hockey in the United States. Mike boasts Level 4 Coaching Certification, with only 5 Levels possible. Between coaching DASA and watching his two sons play hockey, Mike is at a rink most nights of the week. |
