I wanted to let you know in plenty of time what our competitive season looks like this year.

May 5  Lakeshore is having a swim meet in Birmingham Alabama.    They have dorms right next door to pool so we can travel on Friday,  stay in nice dorms and  have family dinner Saturday after swim and travel home on Sunday.

May 19  Gateway Games- St Peters rec Plex-   New team members will be classified at this meet.-   All DASA families expected to participate.

June 2  Thunder in the Valley- optional meet in Saginaw Michigan.  Small good meet,  long long drive

June 10th Endeavor games-  Edmund Ok,   Long drive but fun event.    Swim team and hopefully coach Scott will attend this.    Newbies-  this meet is highly recommended. June 8,9 and 10  Great introduction to disabled sports with great social aspect for your athlete   ( I will stay home because we have a big track meet that weekend also here in town)(  So if you are a trackster and swimmer we might have decide later in the season what you still need to qualify for.)

June 16 and 17 GLASA Chicago,  optional.  good meet close enough.

June 17  Camp Wecandu  June 17th check in thru June 22.    Everyone should plan on attending

July 21 thru 28   National Junior Disability Championships  -  Mesa Arizona  Swimming events typically at the beginning of the week.

Competition fees.

Junior Varsity-  compete at Gateway Games and one out of town meet-    $200.00   we pay your registration fee to meets, the national dues, and travel up to $100 for the season (Gas or Hotel)

Varsity-  Gateway games and two out of town meets with the expectation to qualify and compete at nationals in July.- $400   DASA pays registration fees, National dues, entry to NJDC ( typically 150.)  and travel expenses up to $200. for the season  ( gas, air and or hotel)

We do offer scholarships!    We ask that you please fill out simple scholarship form.    Dave ketcherside, a parent of a DASA recreational swimmer, hosts a poker night fundraiser every year to provide scholarships.  Please tell your friends and family and get them to join.   March 31th   Texas Hold em     Twin Chimneys Subdivision in Ofallon Missouri.    See web site for more info.   Even if you don't need scholarship support or special events please
