Tournaments, Camps & Clinics

DASA hosts annual camps, tournaments, and clinics that help athletes with physical disabilities discover their abilities, build confidence, and connect with others. From fun, engaging summer camp experiences that promote independence and lasting memories to competition tournaments, athletes can explore new sports, develop skills, and compete locally, regionally and nationally.

Gateway Games
In Partnership With
The Hartford

DASA’s Gateway Games is an annual multi-sport adaptive athletics competition that brings athletes together from across the region to compete, build skills, and celebrate their abilities. Hosted by DASA since 2009, the event features track and field, air rifle, archery, Paralympic powerlifting, swimming, toddler games, and paratriathlon.

Through DASA’s longstanding partnership with Move United, Gateway Games joined The Hartford Competition Series in 2024, helping expand the event’s reach and enhance the competition experience for athletes.

Travel and veteran scholarships are available.

Arch Madness is DASA’s annual wheelchair basketball tournament, bringing teams from across the country to St. Louis for exciting competition in this Paralympic sport.

Athletes must have a permanent lower-extremity disability that affects functional mobility, but they do not need to use a wheelchair in everyday life to participate.

Jerry Frick Memorial Power Soccer Tournament

DASA’s annual Jerry Frick Power Soccer Tournament honors Jerry Frick, who helped launch DASA’s Power Soccer team and played an instrumental role in building Power Soccer programs across the United States before his passing in 2016.

Power Soccer is a competitive adaptive team sport in which athletes use power wheelchairs equipped with specialized foot guards to maneuver and strike a large ball, working together to score goals.

Each year, the tournament brings teams together to celebrate Jerry’s legacy, showcase the skill and teamwork of Power Soccer athletes, and grow opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities to compete.

Boccia is a precision ball sport in which athletes throw or roll colored balls as close as possible to a white target ball, called the jack. Every throw matters, requiring focus, accuracy, and strategy to outmaneuver opponents. Camper Melody described what Camp WeCanDu means to her:

“

What I love about camp is all the relationships I get to make with people and all the connections I get to make with the people that I meet. It really changes my life when I come here and I feel like I belong just like everyone else. It shows that we’re all unique in our own beautiful ways… Remember that DIFFERENT IS BEAUTIFUL!

Donations & Sponsors

DASA Summer Camps take a small village to coordinate and run, not to mention the amount of funding needed to ensure every disabled child who wants to attend can do so. Your donations and sponsorships make it all possible.

Help us give kids the best summer camp experience possible while they achieve and revel in the joy of doing “normal” activities that inspire confidence and accentuate their abilities. Thank you for your support of DASA!
